Pupil Voice

To educate our children about the British voting system and democracy a polling station is set up for all children to make their all-important vote. Votes are then counted and representatives are announced to the whole school as part of a celebration.

On Friday 9th March, we held our World Book Day (delayed due to the snow). The day consisted of pupils’ and staff alike dressed up as memorable book characters. This year the pupils’ were challenged to dress up as a book character from their class novel, which was very interesting as pupils’ could directly relate to a character as they shared the story as a class and were familiar with the characteristics of each of the characters represented.

Throughout the day, pupils participated in book related activities including a book share activity where they picked a book / teacher to listen read. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day and had 4 prize winners for their creative costumes:

  • Mikey – Clare EYFS
  • Tara – 2 Clare
  • Ayden – 4 Clare
  • Kuba – 6 Francis

Each prize winner received a £10 book voucher to spend at WH Smith on a book of their choice!

Competition: Pupils with a knack for art or writing were challenged to create their own book or comic using resources from home. Any artwork or books should be given to Miss Gardiner and Miss Chance by 20th March 2018.

Thank all parents, children and staff who assisted throughout the day!
