We have a strong sense of community and family at St Margaret of Scotland. This has been developed through our Family system.

We have three families which every child and adult in our school community belongs to.

We work hard to develop a strong sense of family so everyone feels a sense of belonging and community. 

This is promoted through:

Family Celebration Assembly: a chance for families to come together to celebrate and share excellent learning and good citizenship throughout the week.

Friday Family Play: children from all year groups have a family play.

Family Reading Buddies: children from different year groups but in the same family will have a reading buddy who they meet monthly to share books with.

Family Competitions: an opportunity for families to compete against one another in various activities.

We have an embedded reward system at St Margaret’s.  Children collect family tokens for making good choices linked to learning and behaviour. Each term the tokens are counted and the family with the most tokens wins a reward. 

Our rewards encourage a strong sense of pride and ambition to always do your best. They have included:

• Circus skills
• African drumming
• Junk music
• IT workshop
