Father's Day

Find out all about our topics, special events, learning and amazing achievements over the last week!

Our Learning Journey this Week wb: 11.6.18

This week, we have been thinking about the upcoming 'Father's Day' celebrations. We read the story 'My Dad' together and thought about some of the things that make our dads amazing! Why not take this book out from the library and enjoy it together as a bedtime story? A link for the story can be found below:

In Literacy, we read the story together and the children learned new signs and actions to help them to discuss and re-enact the story. We made our own Father's Day cards and wrote some special messages inside for our dads and special people! We have been practising writing sentences - keep practising at home too!

In Maths, we have continued investigating teen numbers and practising to recognise and count them in the correct order both forwards and backwards! Some children have been exploring ways to combine amounts to make teen numbers and have been working on ordering numbers from 10 - 20. We have been practising counting in tens and looking at the resources we can use to help us to do this!

In R.E. this week, we have continued learning about  friends. We have been reflecting on our learning from last week and thinking of times that we have forgiven our friends, or times that we have needed forgiveness from others. We talked about how this makes us feel and how we will try to solve problems in our friendships in the future.

This week's challenge:
Keeping healthy!

This week, we have been taking part in lots of activities for Healthy Schools Week. For this week's challenge, we would like to know what things you an do at home to keep yourself fit and healthy. Maybe you could take some photographs (which your parent or carer could annotate!) or draw and label pictures to tell us what you know about keeping healthy.

We can't wait to find out what you have learned!

Don't forget to practise reading every day!
