Find out about the exciting prizes available for children who read at home!
Across our school, we are encouraging our children to read as often as possible and have set them a target to read at home every night. We would like to say a big well done to all of the children who have met their target! Over the half term break, why not take a trip to the local library and sign up for free membership? This is a fantastic way of helping your child to read for pleasure!
Over the last half term, we have seen an improvement in the number of times some children are reading at home. Please continue to encourage your child to read their reading book each night and remember to sign their reading record each time you hear them read. Many of the children have been collecting lots of raffle tickets and winning prizes for their reading.
Remember – the more times they read at home, the more tickets they will receive!
After half term, alongside the raffle prizes, we will be giving out certificates and stickers for the child who reads the most each week in each class. These children will win the very special title of ‘Reader of the Week’, which will be published alongside our ‘Stars of the Week’ on our weekly blog. We would love to see all of the children achieve this, so please do keep reading and enjoying books together at home!
