Critical Thinking Parent Workshop

Find out all about our workshop that took place on 25.4.18 and see some photos of our amazing critical thinking!

On Wednesday 25th April 2018, we held a hands on workshop for our parents on the Characteristics of Effective Learning, with a particular focus on creativity and critical thinking.

Miss Rosson and Mrs Neal delivered the workshop for parents, the slides of which can be found below.  This contains lots of information on the Characteristics of Effective Learning, what they are and how you can support and promote them at home with your children.

The parents then joined us down in Early Years, to take part in some critical thinking and problem-solving challenges with the children. It was wonderful to see the children taking part in these challenges alongside their parents and we were very impressed to see the high levels of engagement, enthusiasm, involvement and collaboration that came from the activities (from the children as well as their parents!).

Unfortunately, our challenges were cut short when we were struck by a downpour of extremely heavy rain, but the parents and children were very patient while we transported some challenges from outdoors to inside where the critical thinking continued!

Mrs Neal and I would like to send a huge thank you to all of the parents who were able to attend. We hope you found the information useful and that you are excited and ready to take part in some problem-solving with your children at home!
