EYFS E-Safety (2018)

This week, the children had a very special visit from ‘Smartie the Penguin’ to celebrate ‘Safer Internet Day’.  Smartie came to talk to the children about the amazing technology we can use at home, school and within our community and gave us a story to talk the children about keeping themselves safe online. The children talked about using the internet with an adult’s help and what they can do if they see or hear anything online that upsets, worries or frightens them.

Our children are using and experiencing the internet within their everyday lives and so it is extremely important that we help them to understand the ways they can enjoy using technology in a safe way. Why not talk about Smartie’s story with your child at home? Maybe they could even sing Smartie’s safety song to you! Please follow the link below to find out more about how you can talk about e-safety with your child at home and remember you can always speak to your child’s class teacher if you need any additional advice or support.
